Feature Friday Block Party: Whetting the Appetite

A nibble. A tease. My favorite thing about eating out or a dinner party has always been the appetizers. Those quick, delicious samples that excite the taste buds and make the wait for the main course bearable. Too few make you cranky. Too many overstuff and leave no room for the meal. Just the right balance gives you something to whet anticipation while building the desire for more. Rather like the countdown to a book release.

REMEMBERED BY MOONLIGHT is just a month away (October 13!). Time to start serving appetizers.

For the next thirty days, I’ll be laying out savory, sweet and spicy samples for you to try as an introduction to the newest book in my dark paranormal shape-shifter series: Quotes, excerpts, reviews and especially the cover! Look for these yummy morsels on my Facebook author page, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and here on my blog. For an endless buffet, visit my fun and enthusiastic “Nancy Gideon by Moonlight” Goodreads group where they’ve been busy dishing up contests and tidbits. And keep an eye on my Event page here because I’m going to be serving it up regularly, especially once my Buy the Book Tours Blog Tour begins on October 6. Watch for a sign up if you’d like to participate.

As a good host, let me offer something to get your palate tingling . . .

You’re my everything, Charlotte. There is nothing but emptiness before you, nothing but promise from this moment on. Fill my days and nights. Be the heart that beats in my chest, the hope that builds in my spirit, the dreams that stir my soul.
– Max Savoie, Remembered by Moonlight

Also, be watching for LIFETIME INVESTMENT {writing as} Dana Ransom, my third contemporary reissue from BellBridge Books coming later this month.

From my buffet table, here’s one of my favorite appetizers:

Using a shooter glass (I use plastic!), fill the bottom with dip or dressing (my new crush is guacamole ranch!) then fill with vegetable strips (celery-with leaves is a nice touch, colorful peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, carrots, cucumbers, etc.). I like to prepare a dozen or so to display around the veggie tray along with empty cups and selections of dressing so guests can build their own. Another delish variation is using shot glasses with cocktail sauce, tail-on cooked shrimp and celery leaves. Easy to tote and toss and attractive on the table.

Cover reveal, back blurb, book trailer, sneak peeks? What teases your anticipation of a new release?
