Take one man of honor, complicate his life with a bad girl he can’t resist, force him to make a choice between duty and desire then set this tangled romance on the verge of a Shape-shifter clan war . . .
Since my last post, I’ve been recovering from the unexpected loss of my day job and preparing for a move across the state – right in the middle of the holidays. I didn’t think I’d be able to sit at the keyboard during all the upheaval, but I haven’t been able to stay away with scene after scene in my WIP begging to be told. Here’s another teaser from PRINCE OF HONOR, the latest in my “By Moonlight” dark paranormal series:
“You’re going to stop Cale on my behalf?”He laughed this time, a slightly cynical sound. “Isn’t that what you wanted me to say?”Very quietly, she murmured, “I wanted you to mean it. I don’t know why I expected anything different from a Terriot prince.”“I meant it.”“Then turn on the light so I can see it in your eyes when you tell me again?”Turow hesitated, knowing he should ignore her, knowing better than to be coaxed into conversation. But on this lonely night, he wanted to see her face as much as he needed to soothe her fears, so he leaned forward, reaching toward the lamp situated between the two pieces of furniture. Her heel caught him in the jaw with an explosion of pain, rocking him back into a teetering crouch, and Sylvia was on him in an instant, the length of chain she’d gathered in her hands coiling tightly about his neck.
I’m loving the way this plot is playing out. After dealing with super charged Alpha males in my last few books, Turow Terriot with his purposeful silences and rock solid convictions should have presented a problem, but I’m having such fun with the sizzling undercurrent between him and the not very nice love of his life, especially when she seems determined to complicate and perhaps end it in order to escape his family’s justice.
While waiting for this release, catch up on the House of Terriot and the introduction of both Turow and Sylvia in PRINCE OF SHADOWS and UNLEASHED BY SHADOWS.
