WeWriWa: A Paranormal Knight’s Tale . . . MIDNIGHT CRUSADER – Now Just $0.99!!

In honor of MIDNIGHT CRUSADER’s $0.99 sale through May 15, I rewatched Heath Ledger’s A KNIGHT’S TALE (a difficult task, I know. Sigh . . .) to get in the mood for a little romantic Medieval mayhem (and am, as I type, stomping my feet to “We Will Rock You”!). I’d forgotten how much I adore this movie. Just as I’d underestimated how far down the Round Table rabbit hole I’d fall with a revisit to one of my favorite books. Take historical daring do, a true love tragically lost, then mix in a quest across the ages. This dangerous search for a stolen HEA brings centuries-old vampire Gabriel McGraw to Las Vegas where a dinner show featuring joisting for a fair maid’s hand begins to jar Naomi Bright’s missing memories back to life . . . and places them both in deadly peril as they search for the happiness denied them. Here’s a taste as gathering darkness takes on a new face for an age-old vengeance.

Midnight Crusader (Touched by Midnight Series - Book 9)

Published: May 4, 2011
Length: 228 Pages

A love without end . . .
Having given up his mortal life to search for his lost love through the centuries, vampire Gabriel McGraw begins his final crusade to free her from an enemy’s grip against the glittery backdrop of Las Vegas. But is she the same woman he loved and lost or an equally dangerous foe who could betray all that he believes in?

Naomi Bright’s memories go back no farther than her arrival in Sin City. Does her hidden past conceal madness or a truth too terrible to be believed? Compulsion draws her toward a medieval fantasy world, and obsession to a man she instinctively knows but can’t remember.

Will finding the answers release her from her prison of fear? Or will it ensure that she loses everything - her life, her love . . . her soul?

“ . . . another enthralling and soul-stirring vampire romance.” —BookReview.com

 The Excerpt

Dawn was close, and he was no closer to his reward as he demanded, “Who is this woman who’s worth so much trouble to you and to me?”

“She is the past . . . and the future.”

Growing tired of word games, he grumbled, “But what good does it do for her to be there and you to be here?”

“Oh, I don’t plan to remain here for long . . . at least, not all of me.”

Quinton Alexander sighed in frustration. “Everything with you is a puzzle.”

“I thought you liked puzzles.”

“Ones I can eventually solve.”

“Oh, believe me, you will figure it out soon, for you are an important piece as my link to this century. I could not do what I plan without the knowledge you possess as the doorway through which I will pass.”

( . . . and a bite more . . .)

“Yeah, right,” Quinn mumbled, not even pretending to understand or to care as he insisted, “Now, what about your promise?”

“Oh, I always keep my promises. You will be wealthy beyond your wildest dreams. You will have power unlike anything you can imagine.”

“I can imagine a lot, and I have very vivid dreams.” He smiled, his eyes glittering with anticipation. “Give them to me.”

“But there is a catch.”

Cautiously, he took a step back. “Oh? What catch?”

“You will have to enjoy them through me. Or rather, I will enjoy them within you.”

And the beast sprang, delivering his promise with the slashing of claws and fangs.

Don’t miss this chance to grab up one of my favorite books for pocket change, now through the 15th while it’s Midnight in the City that Never Sleeps!

  1. I do love a medieval romance (with and without vampires!). Loved the excerpt, went to buy it and was told I already own it! Excellent discovery as I've got a plane trip coming up next weekend and my favorite thing to do on a plane is read. So Midnight Crusader is up next in my queue! Tweeted. PS--I too adore A Knight's Tale!
